The
opening puppy stayers saw a very decent performance from Droopys
Edith. Emporio
Glory set the early pace, but was easily swept aside as Droopys
Edith really quickened down the back straight. Danielles
Dora ran wide and stayed on for second.
Despite
receiving a fair whack at the first bend, Noirs
Ted shrugged it off and made all in a smart 28.64. Legal
Major flew down the back straight and it would have been closer,
had he run the third bend more fluently. The margin was just a
length in the end.
A poor looking 6 bend hurdle
followed and Baran
Geronimo broke smartly and led round. He didn't sustain the
gallop and Droopys
Best Guy took it up as the leader faded. Blue
Meadow Lad stayed on for second.
The novice
marathon looked another modest event beforehand. Fabulous
County made the early running, but didn't see out the trip. Paws
For Cash took it up at the 5th bend and went on to score. Swift
Leon stayed on at one pace for second.
Double
Top put in one of his good runs in the IJF stayers. He was
quickly away and made all. He recorded a decent 39.73. Go
Marco Polo kept on for second.
Black
Horse ran out a trap to line winner in a modest looking novice
stayers event. Talking
Tina kept on for second. The favvy Comeback
was slowly into his stride and wide at the bends. he stayed on late
to grab 3rd.
The Jumbo marathon (1045m) looked one
of the better contests of the night. The favvy Slaneyside
Demon was badly outpaced early and only ran on late to grab 3rd.
Centaur
Fuji set a scorching gallop up front, but didn't see out this
extreme distance. Rosshill
View gradually wore her down and led near the 9th bend. Jangos
Snowdrop stayed on for second.
Ronnies
Hustle looked much improved on his return to the track in the
puppy standard. He was quick away and made all, he won well. He
recorded a fast 28.59 for a pup. He is the most beautiful looking
dog and his owners should be in for a lot of success with this lad. Droopys
Hamlet was impeded on the run to the bend and put in a very good
run in second. He is very much one to follow in the coming weeks. Mr
Baggs has robbed the owners of a few wins showing his hand here.
Julies
Protege made the early running in the bitches stayer event. She
didn't get home and Killough
Air stayed on after a slow start, took a rails course and led
between the last two bends. Rackethall
Holly stayed on after a slow start for second. Erinaceous
Rapid eased at several bends and doesn't seem to quite see out
this trip anyway. Swift
Maggie ran a shocker.
Snazzy
Time paced up to the bend in the hurdle open, but again eased.
He was badly crowded. Strong
Flow swung round on the draw as Firm
Handed was also badly crowded. Dixies
Woods started very slowly, got a clear run ran on and led from
near the 3rd bend. Firm
Handed kept on well for second.
Lode
Star led up in the marathon, but didn't get the trip and faded
from the 7th bend. Romford
Carthree was smashed up at the second bend and lost all chance. En
It reluctantly took it up from the last bend and was anything
but impressive. White
Bomber was very one pace from the seventh bend and still managed
to finish second.
Only five went to post in the
veterans stayers event and Silbury
Ruby ran out a comfortable winner. Eye
Onthe Jewel towed her along to near the 5th bend, but had no
answers, as Silbury
Ruby swept by. Silbury
Ruby recorded a decent 39.71.
Milldean
Flash produced a flying start in the standard open. However, his
stride shortened on the run in and Island
View picked him up near the line. This was Island
View's 3rd win from his 3 runs at the Stow. Blonde
Buzz ran a decent race in third.
The night went
out with a bit of a whimper as moderate maiden was put in for the
last race. Sparkys
Stag made all. Clonbrin
Mai was one pace from the last bend and went down by 3 3/4
lengths.
