Thursday's was mainly an open card with graded
fillers.
The evening opened with an A8.
Anns Bliss made most of the running, before being out-stayed by
the favvy
Daphs Domino close to the line.
Daphs Domino turned handy and always looked likely to get on top
where it counts.
Only 4 went to post in the 430m
open and
Legal Major led on the draw after most of the field came
together and made all.
Roxholme Babe came out of the pack and finished 2nd without ever
looking likely to get on terms.
Lollromps Home made most of the running in the first maiden open
and was outstayed by
Pennys Vixen, who led near the line.
Wheres The Girls broke well and made the early running in the
novice stayers race, but didn't see the trip out strongly and
Greenfield Post led from the 4th bend and held on by a short
head.
Ninja Blue returned from a layoff and made all in the veterans
open.
Buckland Wally challenged to the third bend and weakened to
finish 3 3/4 lengths second. The odds on jolly
Caulry Fast Trap was bitterly disappointing.
The weakly contested H2 went to the favvy
Winkys Don. After a modest start, he paced up well to the bend
and made all.
Ballymacs Back plugged on to finish a remote second.
Lode Star led from the second bend and made all from that point
in another weakly contested race, the novice marathon.
Rio Divo started very slowly and plugged on for second.
Tiger Scot was a decent winner in the puppy standard open. He
flashed out of the traps and made all. He's not been getting home
that strongly over 6 bends and the return to 4 bends suited him
well.
Ask The Question was bumped at the start, but finished well,
without ever looking likely to get on terms.
A
bizarrely placed A8 was slotted in, perhaps as a mid meeting siesta.
Egmont Pedro started best and led until fading on the run in.
Trailer Dawn stayed on best and led on the run in.
Sonic Sensation showed good early pace and made all in the 640m
open.
Spankee Moved started slowly and stayed on for second.
Island View returned to the Stow in a better contest than the
one he won last month. He impressed again. He was smartly into his
stride and he made all.
Droopys Fabregas stayed on well for second.
Noirs Ted was most disappointing. Perhaps he was missing Seamus,
who's on holiday.
Daisyfield Bella was a trap to line winner of the A1. This was
her 11th win from 30 at the track.
Happy Memories kept on and reduced the margin to half a length
at the line.
Milldean Buster may have been another one missing Seamus's magic
touch.
Pennys Britney made all and ran out a decent winner in the
closing S2.
Genesis Alix stayed on to finish a remote second.
