Tuesday's card featured the first round of the VC
Bet standard and some
graded fillers.
The ground was lightening fast.
Barnfield On Air did a 28.25 trial before racing in preparation for
next weeks invitation race on televised on Sky. Cleenas Lady and
Killer Keane are two other acceptors for the race.
Elusive
No Doubt was well supported in the opener and broke well and
made all, winning by 4 lengths. 28.79 was the winning time in a P7! Roswell
Zodiac ran wide and kept on for second.
Clearlyinmotion
led round in the hurdles event, but jumped poorly an was passed at
the 3rd bend. He was not the only one, it was a pretty grim race. Westgate
Flash won on his hurdles debut in this H2. (THEY knew - down for
a H1 on Saturday!)
Drumbeg
Robroy showed good early in the P8, but Ants
Gunner flew past him going into the bend and went on to make
all. Drumbeg
Robroy was completely outpaced and was crowded at the 2nd bend. Kid
Joker kept on for second.
The S3 was a dreadful excuse for a race. London
Pride broke well and led until fading from the 5th bend. Rumour
Has It ran on and took over from the 5th bend. London
Pride held on for second.
In the 1st heat of
the VC Bet standard, Milldean
Flash showed dazzling early pace and made all. The old rogue Raging
Jack ran on well for second qualifying spot.
Swift
Satin paced up well and led up in the A5. He moved aside at half
way and allowed Fine
Ceilidh a nice gap. Fine
Ceilidh kept on and scored by 3/4 of a length from Charlies
Dart, who stayed on for second after a modest start.
Seamus
Cahill landed the 2nd heat of the VC Bet standard as Cobra
Striking flew to the corner, but stumbled coming out of the
second bend, allowing Milldean
Buster a clear path on the inner. Cobra
Striking gamely tried to hold Milldean
Buster off, but Milldean
Buster took it up between the last two bends. Nightshade
broke well, got a bit outpaced early, before staying on and grabbing
second qualifying spot.
The old rogue Double
Top put in a bad run tonight, following some good wins at
Nottingham. He was sent off 4/7 jolly. Lode
Star led round to the 4th, before Double
Top took over. Double
Top dwelt and allowed Lode
Star to take it up again from the 5th bend.
It was old rogue's night at the Stow, as Old
Jamaikey returned from a layoff and made all. He dwelt and held
on by a head as he toyed with his rivals. Woodhill
Alfie plugged on for second. Journey
East was bumped at the 1st bend, but was disappointing
nevertheless.
Kindred
Sparky cracked out and made all in the 3rd heat of the VC Bet
standard. Ronnies
Earner held every chance, but didn't negotiate the bends at all
fluently.
Mystical Haka broke best and led up in the A3. He moved off at
half way and couldn't contain
Synone Rubin, who broke averagely, ran on and led from the third
bend.
Mystical Haka kept on for second.
Lockdale Lady broke well, but was a bit slow round the first two
bends, but kept on for third.
Well Presented eased at every bend and was tailed off.
Julies Protege ran out a very impressive trap to line winner in
the A2. She didn't see another rival and finished full of running as
well.
Ortuna broke well, moved off the rails and kept on for second.
The favvy
Sophie Rose, put in an appalling show, as did
Ballyneale Light.
Black As Coal wasn't much better, though he did suffer a 1st
bend bump.
Placid Jill was strongly supported in the lucky last (S2) and
absolutely bolted up, winning by 6 and a bit lengths in 39.75.
Silky Rose was best of the also rans.
