Liscahane
Kia broke best in the opening P9, but moved aside at half way
and dwelt from the 3rd bend. Call
The Shots started slowly, got a clear run round the first two
bends and took it up at half way. He had no answer to Miss
Rapid, as she swept by at the 3rd bend. Miss
Rapid started slowly on his debut and showed decent middle pace
and took it up at the 3rd bend. He won well on his debut.
The
hurdles event was a not a great race. Gantara
broke very smartly and led to the 3/4. Four
Minutes outpaced him and led at the 3/4, but dwelt up and threw
the race away. Gantara
took up the invitation and led again near the line. Starfire
Flyer grabbed 3rd late on.
Baby
Levi was modestly away in the P7, but showed some EP to lead at
the second bend. His stamina ran out on the run in and he went down
by a length and a quarter. Unique
Picture started slowly, came off the rails, and stayed on and
led on the run in. Changing
Lanes was aptly named as he switched/dwelt a few times. He ran
very green.
Shortfall
started well and led round in the S3. He didn't see out the trip and
faded from between the last two bends. Cutie
Pie took it up from this point and won easily. Eye
Onthe Spark kept on and grabbed 2nd from the fading Shortfall.
Drumbeg
Robroy started smartly and led until half way in the A6. Noirs
Falcon swept by at half way and really put it down on the home
straight. He put in an outstanding effort on his debut, recording a
28.99.
Westridge
Faith started smartly in the P4 and led at the first bend. All
Clued Up stumbled at the start, but paced up well and hit the
front at the 3rd bend. He failed to sustain the gallop and Tiger
Scot swept past on the run in.
Lockwood
Littljo was sent off a ridiculously short price in the A4.(5/4)
He paced up well and turned handy. As he approached the 3rd bend,
regular race goers and readers of these reports, should have known
what was going to happened next. All together now "EASE"
This is not one for Question of Sport. Lemon
Figo was fancied in the race, but few could have expected him to
lead early. That's just what he did. He did make rather heavy
weather of it and held on by half a length from Im
Snoopy, who kept on for second.
Only 5 went to
post in the A3, as Clonbrin Ted was withdraw under rule 73a (or some
similar number) Apparently he suffers from something that leaves him
badly hydrated after his races, particularly if he goes beyond the
pick up. Walthamstow are supposed to be getting a screen that stops
the dogs at the pick up. As the screen had not arrived, they did not
want to risk him, so he was allowed to be withdrawn. (Thanks to JC
for this explanation) Implicitly
led up but ran poorly after being headed at the 3rd bend. After a
slow start, Placid
Jill stayed on and led at the 4th bend. Ballyneale
Light challenged at half way and led from the 3rd to 4th bend,
until being out-stayed by Placid
Jill.
Lockdale
Duke broke averagely in the A2 and paced up well to lead at the
first bend. Sadly, he went wrong nearing the 3rd bend and faded to
the rear. Optimistic
Henry took over at the 3rd bend briefly, but faded near the
line, after being passed on the run in. Call
Again had time for a dwell up at the 3rd bend and still
out-gunned them on the run in.
Sophie
Rose broke superbly well in the second A2 and led round. The
well backed jolly Armies
Plan, started slowly, but came home much the stronger, leading
at the 4th bend. Denwood
Star eased at the 3rd bend and ran poorly. (No change there
then)
Maneen
Haka made all in the third A2. He held on desperately in a bunch
finish. Daisyfield
Matti came out just the best of the rest and grabbed second.
Fear
Mykeo was quickly into stride in the A1 and held what looked
like a winning advantage approaching the 3rd bend. However, she
seemed to lose the plot and Daisyfield
Bella took over between the last two bends. Swift
Maggie stayed on and led near the line and Fear
Mykeo got going again to grab second.
Ellron
made all in the S2 finale. Girl
Next Door started very slowly and stayed on for second. Despite
turning in second, Aranock
Sand ran poorly.
