The
bookmakers appeared to have pulled up the shutters before the first
race (a P8) and were none too keen to lay a bet. Courts
Ad Maggie opened up 4/6, touched Evens very briefly (Dougie),
before being sent off a 4/7 shot. She was quickly into her stride
and made all. Liscahane
Kia ran off at the second bend and took Big
Break out of the race. Go
Ronnie Rocket got a nice clear run, but didn't show too much
promise on his debut and seemed to have a dodgy action to boot. Ringtale
Lad would have finished a closer second, but was clumsy at the
3rd bend and ran into trouble.
Gantara
and Four
Minutes have locked horns a few times lately in the hurdles
races, with each of them taking turns of beating the other. Gantara
broke best , but checked at the second bend. Four
Minutes took it up at half way and led until the run in. Gantara
got going again and led on the run in.
Jo
Junior was formerly better class, but a few injuries have seen
him competing in A7 level recently. He turned handy and held every
chance, but didn't seem too keen to get to the front. True
Thomas led them up to the 3rd bend, until Ragga
Diva took over. Ragga
Diva won by half a length from the staying on Unique
Picture, who showed a little promise on his debut.
Only
5 went to post in the S3, as Shan Rica was a non runner. Pennys
Lindsay led for a few bends, before Girl
Next Door showed the better pace on the run to the third bend. Girl
Next Door ran out a comfortable winner.
Carden
Noir made all in the A6, without impressing. Sofem
plugged on for second. Many
Memories came with a strong challenge at the third bend, but was
clumsy and ran into trouble, losing all chance. Touchwood
Dream had a couple of looks on the run in (one minor & one
major) and got a red card.
All
Clued Up was sent off a very short looking 4/5 shot in the A4,
but missed the break. Meander
capitalised and led at half way. All
Clued Up paced up well to grab the lead back at the third bend,
only to run out of petrol on the run in. Lagile
Tomo suffered a fair bit of trouble between the last two bends
and showed good determination to get on top on the run in.
Maneen
Haka was an impressive trap-to-line winner in the A3. Lemon
Figo followed him round, but could not get on terms, going down
by 2 3/4 lengths.
Mystical
Bunny broke averagely in the second A3 and then unleashed some
fair EP to lead up. He went on to make all, but was a bit
unfortunate as Rough
Charley came to challenge late on and unfortunately was another
to have a fight. The referee was bust this evening and another red
card was produced. Rough
Charley was out with the washing early and had looked completely
out of it early on.
Droopys
Sibin broke well and led round in the S1. Marked
Away took over at the 4th bend and was joined on the line by Marked
Away. Marked
Away did well, considering that he eased at a few bends. Silbury
Squirrel didn't look 100% and ran poorly. Rhias
Beauty showed some pace down the back straight, but eased at the
5th bend and faded. They do love a dead heat at the Stow.
Ballymac
Rita came off the fence on the run up and made all in the P4. Ask
The Question missed the break badly and lost all chance. Ballymac
Daisy got a clear run round the first two turns and kept on for
second.
On a memorable night for the Garland
kennel, Pennys
Viva stepped up markedly on previous form and ran out a decent
winner in the A2. Adamant
Laser failed to slip his field and ran disappointingly. Happy
Memories was none too fluent at the bends. Poacher
Man ran a shocker.
Greenfield
Hero put in a devastating display of pace in the A1. He took my
breath away and scorched round the track, winnning in a fast
28.58. Black
Horse started slowly, but kept on best of the rest for second. Daisyfield
Bella turned 2nd, but faded on the run in.
Snoozys
Palace made the early running in the second A1, but could
not sustain the gallop and faded on the run in. Special
Deal ran on and despite easing at the 3rd, went on to score. Swift
Maggie didn't look 100%.
True
Frankie made all in the S2 finale. Paxton
Prince turned fairly handy early on, but was poor from the 5th. Canary
Fantasy kept on and held every chance.
