I
arrived a little late and missed the opener. Fat
Man Dan won. I'm told he opened at 4/7 (in a graded race) and
drifted out to Evens.
Ronnies
Callum had been running below par running into tonight's H1, but
came back with a bang and ran riot. Questhouse
Jimmy chased him round for a few bends, but faded to the rear
from the 3/4. Four
Minutes plugged on to finish a remote second.
Look
Here Dan was the second Fire Height Dan pup appearing on the
card in the A7, after Fat
Man Dan won the first. He had a punch up last week and escaped
without a card. This week he was obviously well tuned up. He
produced an average break and then unleashed a decent burst of early
pace and destroyed this field. He won by 10 lengths in a decent
29.28. There was plenty of easing and checking in behind and the
offenders were Matts
Idea, Try
She Will and A
Beautiful Life.
Black
Specta made all and held on desperately to land the S3. Pennys
Lindsay was sent off a 4/6 favourite and was not at the races.
She lobbed round, held every chance and never looked likely to get
on terms. Droopys
Checkburn loomed up with every chance and again eased at
the 5th bend before keeping on. Black
Specta, faded on the run in and the margin was reduced to a
short head.
The weakly contested A6 went the way of
Fancy
Woods. Fancy
Woods broke averagely, got a clear run and led off the second. Shell
Harbour ran wide and cannoned into Athy
Ranger at the start. The favourite, Ellron
was very slow away and loomed up at the 3rd bend. Unfortunately, she
clipped the rails slightly at the 3rd bend and only went down by a
neck.
In the A5, Beardys
Lex Anne broke well and was briefly headed by Buckland
Star off the second bend, before straightening up and quickly
putting the race to bed. Pinehurst
Silk showed a bit of early pace after a modest start and kept on
for second.
Loughteen
Laura broke best in the A4, but had no answer as Wise
Digger swept by her at half way. Loughteen
Laura wasn't the first Garland trained favvy to get rolled over.
Arry
Olt ran much better than of late to grab second. He'll get his
head in front soon.
In the A3, Tipsy
Tarquin broke modestly, but showed some early and led off the
second bend. He comfortably held off Charity,
who turned handy enough and put in a disappointing run, despite only
getting beat a length. Zu
Yi checked up at the first and could not have finished sound. Chase
The Dream was another checker. Milldean
Thunder ran a shocker.
Those that had got stuck
into Droopys
Majella in the S1 must have been a little concerned after she
missed the break. They need not have worried. She slipped down a
gear off the second bend and tore past Droopys
Kan Kan, who had broke superbly. Droopys
Majella went away for a comfortable success. Genesis
Alix was outpaced early after a decent start and stayed on for
second.
Treacle
Rose cracked out and made most of the running in the A2, only to
succumb to Black
Horse late on. Treacle
Rose is a bit of a short runner. Black
Horse was not fluent at the 3rd bend, but still had enough in
the locker to score. Kilgraney
Agassi ran ok in 3rd. Shelbourne
Ryan continued his poor spell.
Bell
Classic made all in the second A2. He moved off at half
way, but still won comfortably. Sligo
Next eased at all of the bends and still managed to finish
second. Buckland
Wally showed some pace down the back straight, but faded from
the 4th.
There was plenty of early paced contenders
in a competitive looking A1. Despite not being a great trapper, Blue
Rizzler has sizzling early pace for a grader. He went woosh
again after an average break, but does not get home at all strongly.
He led off the second bend and was caught on the run in. Fenland
Lark broke well enough and despite having no answer to Blue
Sizzler's early dash, he came home best and led on the run in.
In behind, Denwood
Star checked at the 3rd again. Miss
Modesty eased at the second.
Fear
Mykeo made all to land the second A1 in a fast 28.60. Noirs
Heart ran well in defeat in second. Special
Deal looked a very long way from finishing sound and was beaten
a distance. Fear
Mykeo probably deserved the headline after this sparkling run,
but I was quite taken by Maj's effort earlier.
Tinky
Rolls broke modestly in the S2 finale, but her early quickly
took her to the front. She ran wide at the second bend, fade from
near the 5th bend and did not get the trip. True
Frankie kept on to lead the the 5th bend. Off
Course kept on for second.
