There
was a distinct lack of early pace in the opening P7 and Annes
Sian went round on the draw and made most of the running. Baby
Levi headed her briefly on the back straight before going into
reverse on the run in. Noirs
Teresa kept on for second.
Noirs
Teresa set the early pace in the A5, but Charity
produced one of her best breaks. Charity
was outpaced for a short while before staying on well and taking the
running up between the last two bends for a comfortable success. Mystical
Music stayed on to finish a distant second after Buckland
Star cried enough.
Legal
Major had put up a consistent sequence of quality runs, but had
a slightly tricky draw in trap three in this mini standard. Roswell
Phoenix led him briefly on the run to the first turn before Legal
Major showed his class & courage to take up the running off
the first. He was never going to be caught. Pork
Pie kept on gallantly for second. Perceptive
Pacey ran wide at the first bend and could never land a
blow.
Murlens
Tulip led up in the puppy stayers event until fading on the run
in. Romford
Carthree (surely a clone of RC2?) stayed on and produced a late
burst of pace to grab the lead close home. Droopys
Jimmy showed some pace in the race, but ran wide at the bends
and failed to stay, fading from near the 5th bend. (assuming he was
"off")
Courts
Ad Queen was an impressive winner of the Div 2 standard. She
blasted from the traps and was an impressive winner. Swift
Satin broke fairly well , ran wide on the run up and held off Murlens
Copper for second. Murlens
Copper and Milldean
Flash came together on the run in. I think that Milldean
Flash was having a dwell up, though I could be wrong. One of
them was not concentrating on the job.
The
consistent starter Treacle
Star again produced a great break to lead the field a merry
dance early in the A4. She's a short runner though and both Chase
The Dream and Zu
Yi went past her and dead heated. Neither look like ones to
follow on the back of this race.
Double
Top was an impressive winner last week and stepped up in class
tonight to contest this standard stayers open race. Double
Top broke modestly, but unleashed a decent turn of early pace
and ran out an impressive all-the-way winner. Nice arras!
The
maiden standard was won by Special
Trip. Kingfisher
Daisy led at the second bend until Special
Trip won a bunch finish on the run in. Black
Horse challenged and checked at the 3rd bend, but only lost by
two heads. The "distanceometer" was stuck and Brickfield
Dream finished a further head back in 4th.
Astute
Gift ran out an impressive winner of the Div 1 standard. After a
modest start he showed some early and railed and won well. He really
shows his best from trap one at the Stow. Emporio
Caesar was very slow away, but kept on for second. Cagey
Dougie lost it at the second bend, but still managed 3rd spot.
Droopys
Sibin led up in the marathon, but faded as anticipated from the
7th bend. Ceroc
Gypsy turned very handy and took up the running at the 6th. Silbury
Ruby plodded on for second. Westminster
Taj checked at the first bend and ran below par.
Dan
Of War was a surprise winner of the A3. He trapped well and made
all. Clonbrin
Ted kept on for second.
In the A1, Eye
Onthe Star broke best, but was outpaced by Blue
Rizzler, who led off the second bend. Royal
Officer was slow away , but did well to win from that start and
led on the run in.
