The
opening P9 looked to be a good opportunity for Ants
Gunner to pen his account. He was sent off a very short 4/5
shot, but never gave his supporters a moments anxiety. Daves
Flyer was very slow away and ran middle and gave Ants
Gunner plenty of room to manoeuvre. Ants
Gunner produced a reasonable start and made all for a comfortable
victory.
It was deja vu in the hurdles H2
race. The five dog (Headleys
Blue) was very slow away and Firm
Handed (in six) produced a decent start and made all. Blue
Meadow Lad looked lame on the run up.
Treacle
Star produced a modest start in the A8, her second race back
from season. Trusted
started smartly, but was completely outpaced by Treacle
Star who showed her customary early foot and made all. Rubette
plugged on for a distant second.
Milwaukee
Tools sprung a surprise in the S2. True
Frankie towed him round to the third turn before Milwaukee
Tools took it up. Milwaukee
Tools ran wide at the last turn, but had enough in the locker to
hold on from Centaur
Driver, who checked at the 5th bend, but stayed on fairly well. Lame
Juice ran a shocker, and did not look too sound.
Popitonpatsy
stepped up on his modest debut run to make most of the running in
the A7.Popitonpatsy
is by Spot The Fools, who made A1 at the Stow. Leaha
Chuita stayed on to grab the lead on the run in for Graham
Sharp.
Nikray
Gifted broke well in the A6, but Paid
In Cash showed the better pace to lead at the second bend. Honcho
Dan missed the break, but ran on ok for second. Nikray
Gifted ran poorly after losing the lead, but was ex Season and
ex lame. She was formerly better grade, but will probably need
another couple of spins to get back in the hunt.
The
next A6 looked to be a match between Zu
Yi and All
Clued Up. However, All
Clued Up missed the break and suffered interference on the run
up and at the second bend. Zu
Yi took full advantage and skipped clear after making a smart
break and made all.
The old rouge Silbury
Ruby was slung in on her best form in the S1. It was a case of
will she or wont she both before the race, and during the first 550m
of the race! Be
Wise Lady led them until the run in before Silbury
Ruby took the lead in a slowly run race.
July
Captain went off a short favvy ion the A5 and led off the second
bend. However, he was quickly swept aside as Pepsi
Chick asserted his authority from the 4th bend. Milldean
Tyco challenged to the third bend and kept on for second. Night
Night eased at the 3rd bend in behind.
Pinta
Magners broke well and led up in the A4. Ballyneale
Light stayed on the better to lead near the line. Wise
Digger stayed on and was slightly crowded at the 3rd bend, but
did not look too unlucky.
The A3 was full of slow
starters and Clonbony
Jubub got to the front off the 2nd bend after a clear run round
the first two turns. She won comfortably from Zaras
Luck who plugged on for second. Boy
Becca checked off and smashed into Sangria
off the second bend.
Shrewd
Rambler broke well and took a middle course and made all to win
impressively in the A2. King
Forever broke modestly, showed some pace to the first and faded
on the run in, but still held on for second. Classy
Star did not look 100% in third.
Discreet
Cat showed pace and again was not fluent at all at the bends in
the A1. His class took him to a half length second to Eye
Onthe Star, who sprung a surprise. Eye
Onthe Star was very slow away and stayed on to lead at the third
bend. Noirs
Heart stayed on for third. Denwood
Star led till easing at the third bend and Addington
Ruby was forces to check at this point and lost all chance.
Bobs
Express took it up from the early pace setter Time
Connection at the third bend for a comfortable success. Cool
Nelly stayed on for second. Ebony
Ocean broke well, was outpaced early and kept on for third.
