Pork
Pie was sent off a ridiculously short 8/13F in the opening 435m
open. He missed the break and the 2005 Scurry winner, Wheres
Yer Man capitalised and made all. Daisyfield
Bella showed the best early pace in the race, but lost the
plot rounding the first two turns, before keeping on ok.
Droopys
Jimmy got to the front off the second bend in the Div 3 maiden,
but capitulated from the third bend. Chase
The Dream was slow away, but kept on to lead at the 4th in a
modest event.
Alis
Amigo broke well, took a middle course and made all to land the
hurdles open. Ronnies
Callum was crowded on the run in, but looked to be crying enough
from the 4th bend. Plasterers
Radio , who fought at Romford on his first race, unfortunately
did the double and was disqualified on his first hurdle outing.
There was trouble in the middle traps in the event.
Big
Brett Coal added another impressive win to his CV when landing
short odds in the 640 open. He led near the third bend and came away
for a comfortable win. Patch
Of Blue came out of the pack to nail Eye
Onthe Jewel on the line for second possy.
Lockwood
Littljo broke well and led them up in the puppy standard. Royal
Officer turned handy and ran on to lead at the 4th bend and win.
He was well supported in the ring. Erinaceous
Rapid broke poorly and got going too late to put in a challenge
and finished second.
Rough
Charley led fairly early and made all to won the Div 2 maiden
from Lockdale
Prince. Droopys
Boss was very slow away and was crowded a the first. He ran on,
but was wide at the 4th bend and never looked likely to get on
terms.
Journey
North came right back to his best in the Div 2 standard. He
produced a tremendous start and sealed the event very early on. Harrys
Girl kept on for a 3L second, with Snoozys
Palace a further 3/4 of a length back in third.
Wise
Susie missed the break in the novice marathon, but showed plenty
of pace to get to the front at the 7th bend. Miss
Dark Eyes made the running to that point and found a bit more
after being headed. Wise
Susie held on in the end. Wise
Susie had won marathons in Ireland, but was hard to assess. She
will have to improve a fair bit from this run to compete in some of
the better races..
Optimistic
Henry set a very good pace in the veterans race and looked all
over the winner in the race. I have probably been a bit unfair to January
Tiger in my recent comments and he showed his class here to get
up on the run in. Thirty wins from 73 starts is a magnificent
record. Nil
Finance ran a shocker. Glenske
Tango broke well, but eased at the 3rd bend. Buckland
Wally was crowded on the run up, but ran poorly.
Kingfisher
Daisy got to the front in the Div one maiden, but the writing
looked on the well as as Droopys
Fabregas turned handy. Droopys
Fabregas took a while to get into gear and needed every yard to
get on top. Monte
Alban did not break well, suffered interference and never looked
likely to get involved.
Too
Risky produced an electric start in the Div one standard and
looked to have the race by the balls. Who
Needs Wings produced one of his better starts and unleashed the
turbo down the back straight to get on top on the run in. Too
Risky was fading on the run in after a 49 day layoff. I think Too
Risky will have him next time.
Ingenious
was well supported in the finale, the Novice stayers race. Calzaghe
Shearer towed him along for a bit, before Ingenious
led near the third bend for a comfortable win. Silbury
Squirrel never looked like getting on terms.
