Noirs Heart burns up the track

Walthamstow Report 14 Apr 2007

An ordinary graded card.

The first race was an A9. Remember Bill led early, before Ask Dont Tell led at the second bend after a modest start. Ask Dont Tell went wide and faded from the 4th bend. Remember Bill led again between the last two turns until Mix Em Up stayed on and led near the line. Mix Em Up landed a gamble having been backed in from 4/1 to 9/4.

Ronnies Callum went off a short price in the hurdles H1 despite being absent since October of last year. He broke quickly and led until tiring between the last two bends. He did not look too sound. Four Minutes ran on and took up the running at this point before being joined on the line by Too Much Trouble. They do love a dead heat at the Stow.

Twilight Fantasy went middle and ran into Wise Shakira at the start of the A8. Call Again made all the running and dwelt at the 3rd bend as Twilight Fantasy came to challenge him. Neither looked to be putting it down and Call Again came out on top.

Box Of Tricks made all to land the S3. He ran wide at all the bends, but still had enough in hand to land the race. Time Connection was one pace from the last bend and finished  second.

Lockdale Duke broke smartly and made the early running in the A7. He faded and was caught on the run in and Annes Sammy grabbed the lead near the line. Marathon Girl stayed on and went down by a short head in second.

Lizzies Angel followed up her previous win when making all in the A6. Lizzies Angel was 9/19 A2 at Oxford before coming to the Stow and has taken a while to reproduce form anywhere near that standard. Zu Yi showed some early pace after a modest start and kept on for second. Droopys Hepburn was returning Ex lame, but still checked at the 3rd bend and ran poorly.

True Frankie led to the 3rd bend in the S2, before Be Wise Lady took up at running. Be Wise Lady and True Frankie dominated the race and Be Wise Lady came out on top.

True Kewell broke smartly before losing the plot at half way. Jim The Butcher took up the invitation and held off Fall In Line, who stayed on for second. The favourite Droopys Top Lad went wide and hammered into Ardmayle Machine at the start. Ardmayle Machine was also crowded at the second bend, but ran well afterwards. He is one to consider next time.

Kingfisher Daisy made all in the A4. Larkhill Jackie kept on ok for second.

Shelbourne Thesa won the modest S1, leading from the second bend after a decent start. Pennys Britney kept on for second after suffering a bit of trouble. Droopys Kan Kan was disappointing.

Clonbrin Ted produced a decent start in the A3, but he's a short runner and Sligo Next, who had suffered trouble at the 2nd bend, finished with a real flourish to lead on the line.

Noirs Heart was an impressive winner of the A2 event. He was quick away and made all in a fast 28.74. Monte Alban stumbled at the 3rd bend, but kept on for second. Reverse Pace checked at the 3rd bend in behind.

Denwood Star broke very well in the A1, but could not hold the strong finishing Shelbourne Ryan. Directors Tale couldn't go the early pace and was crowded at the second bend.

Granary Smurf started well and made the running in the closing S3. His stamina gave way between the last two bends and Glengar Royal stayed on to lead at this point. I Mean That stayed on for second after a poor start.
