A Special double and seventh heaven for the Baggs kennel –

Walthamstow Report 20 Mar 2007

A shite Walthamstow card faced punters on the trainers championship night at Hall Green.

The first race (an A9) was won by Special Nero on his debut. He broke averagely and showed some nice early boot and held on. He'll do ok.  Special Nero  is another bred by Gary Noble. He is bred from Tulla Misty, who was 5/34 A2 Romford. Dogolphin website

Special Nyx (Special Nero's sister) did the double for Gary in the following A9. She took a middle course after a modest break and stayed on to grad the lead from Jewel Laura near the line.

Fionntra Jo took the H1 race. He had time for a good look at his rivals in the hurdles event at the 3rd bend and straightened up and showed screws pace to take it up again near the line.

The S4 was a truly appalling event. There was plenty of different leaders before I Mean That led near the line. I Mean That had time to ease at a few bends early doors.

Fitzie was a decent winner for the Gary Baggs kennel in the first of a couple of A8 thrillers. He did not show too much early foot, but after a clear run he put it down in fair style for the grade.

The second A8 was won in a slow time by Fat Boy Joe, who lead from start to finish.

Matomi Sparkle was sent off a ridiculously short price in the A7. Those who played at the short odds quickly knew their fate as Jim The Butcher turned handy in behind. Jim The Butcher went middle and was crowded at the start, but quickly put the race to bed after turning a close second behind Matomi Sparkle, who is not too genuine after all.

The S3 was thrown away by Go Figure who ran unbelievably wide again at lots of bends. The favvy Droopys Delia was out with the washing early, but got going in time to lead close home.

A gamble was landed in the 5 runner A5. (Junko Tabei was absent). Kingfisher Daisy from the Mick Puzey kennel was backed from 3/1 to 7/4 at the track and showed some EP after a modest start and made all the running. Silky Rose stayed on for second.

True Frankie was an impressive winner in the A6. Few would have thought he would have led up early, but that's just what he did. He was a wide margin winner.

Mr Baggs notched up yet another winner when Droopys Kan Kan made all the running in the S2. Droopys Kan Kan has hit form, but will find things harder from now on.

Fionntra Dara smashed out in the A4 and had the race at his mercy, but his stamina gave way and Mystical Sloth stayed on to lead near the line.

Sparta Master made the early running in the A2, but he could not hold Snoozys Palace, who led on the run in. Sparta Master was the 6th winner of the evening for the Gary Baggs kennel. Perhaps the lucky Guinness hat did the trick.

I wasn't really watching the last race. Shaunas Celtic made it seven for Mr Baggs.
