The opening A9 was a tricky puzzle for punters. Armistice had taken a
number of trials to get on the card and had shown little promise on her
debut. However, she improved markedly on her debut run and stayed on
after a slow start to lead on the run in. This is the first win I have
noticed at the stow for the progeny of Fire Height Dan.
Armistice's mum was a fair graded at the track if memory serves me
right. Optimistic Cindy towed her kennelmate up to the run in. Cheeky
Johney showed some promise after a tardy start.
The A8
featured a good run from Layhams Lucky after a layoff of 102 days.
She was also 0 and 6, so I would also have thought that the layers
were pleased to see this one come in. She defied the R Post nap
Marathon Girl, who didn't break to well, but ran quite well
afterwards. She will be winning soon.
The hurdles
event was a messy affair as Gantara went middle from trap one and
put paid to the chances of Fionntra Jo at the start. Alis Amigo
broke well and led to the 3rd bend before Four Minutes took up the
running and he won a bunch finish.
The modest A7 was taken in trap to line fashion by London Pride.
Westgate Cars threatened to get invoved at the third, but his lack of
experience found him out. Good Georgia and Fleur De Lys were easing at
the bends in behind.
Ingenious won the S2 fairly impressively, showing some EP from the first
and leading from between the first two bends. Craigdale Ruby plugged on
for second, but never looked likely to get on terms with the winner.
Honcho Reward eased at a bend or two. Fionntra Lisa eased and faded
badly at the 5th.
Pinehurst Silk kept her 100% record in tact when landing her 2nd win
from as many starts. July Captain ran quite well after a tardy start. He
drove the first two bends well and challenged at the 3rd bend and held
every chance. Beardys Lex Anne took a nasty tumble off the pace. I hope
she's ok.
Jos Blue made all to land the modest A6. True
Frankie kept on ok for 2nd.
The reliable
starter Fionntra Dara again broke smartly in the A5 and she made all
the running. Eye Onthe Spark was very slow away, but kept on for
second.
The enigmatic Aimwell produced a fine start
in the S4 and toyed with her rivals (dwell dwell) and perhaps paid
back a little to her dwindling band of pot less supporters. Withces
Petal held every chance and went down by 3/4 of a length.
Brickfield
Deal made most of the running in the A4 before succumbing to the
late challenge of Marked away, who ran on well to lead on the line.
Brickfield Deal's turn should come soon, particularly if allowed to
drop into a Bags race. Dantes Image had a dwell up on the running
off the pace.
January Student cut out the early
running in the A3, but was never going to hold Miss Modesty, who
came with a strong run to lead at 4th turn. January Student would do
very well at somewhere like Romford. Droopys Fabregas showed some
back straight pace but was clumsy at the 3rd turn.
The
veteran Buckland Wally was running really well coming into this
race, but was allowed to go off at a generous 4/1 shot. I hope the
layers got filled in as Buckland Wally swooped to take up the
running from Implicitly at the 3rd bend. This was a better run from
Implicitly after a few poor efforts. Swing Low did not negotiate the
bends well and Zoltan Champ put in another stinker.
Droopys
Faldo led up the A1 for a couple of turns before making way for
Optimistic Berty who won the modest A1 contest unimpressively.
The
usual lottery race closed the card. Ciarans Prince led up till down
the back straight for the final time and La Loren took over after an
abysmal run last time. Synone Jasmine ran ok after getting hammered
at the first bend, She can take one of these shite contests soon.
