Tanner
Butler, the dream dog - Walthamstow Report 25 Jan 2007
Tuesday brought another graded
meeting (which suited me fine) with a few highlights.
Hillcross Grace
(By Margan Bluebelle, OR @ Stow)
broke well and led up in the P9, but folded at the 3rd
bend and the well supported favvy Ragga Diva took the opener.
The hurdles event was weakened by the withdrawal of Highbury Tiger. Four
Minutes led up and Wol and Blue Meadow Lad both
turned with every chance. Neither could make any impression. Eye
On the Glory went off a firm favourite in the A7, but had no
answer to the Peter Rich trained Funcheon Turbo, who bolted
out of the traps and made all. The thrilling S3 went the way of the
layers as both Calzaghe Sheaer and Curlew Laura both broke
poorly. Rhincrew Jo broke well and made all.
The progressive Elusive For Sure
added another win to his tally when making all to land the A6. He
never saw another rival and should be winning another race or two in
the near future. Kindred Sparky
stamped his class on the P5. Breaking behind Hypatia Blue, he
showed his early boot and quickly put the race to bed. Unfortunately
there was trouble in behind, so we were not given a good chance to
put his performance in perspective. He is still very much one to
follow. He lined plenty of pockets tonight.
Coolsville
showed a nice turn of early speed when making all in the A5. I do
not feel he achieved too much with this win and think he’ll find
it harder from now on. I noted previously his imperfect stride
pattern.
Winch Whippet
made all to win a competitive P4, despite looking vulnerable from
the 3rd bend. Double Top looked as if he would get
amongst the doubles when showing a nice turn of pace down the back
straight.
Paxton Prince
made all to land the S2 for Graham Sharp. The favvy, Milwaukee
Tools, turned more than handy, but could not get on terms with
the winner.
Buckland Wally
won despite a 96 day lay off when landing the A4. Previously a 23.89
Romford winner, he took up the running at half way from Boy Becca,
who capitulated from that point.
What a pleasure it must be to own a
dog like Tanner Butler. His supporters never had a moments
anxiety (while I was stuck at the bar L
) as he made all. He is a lovely dog.
He’ll be facing some harder
challenges now though.
Pennys Viva
was a surprising winner of the A2. She broke smartly and made all. Who
Needs Wings put in a solid comeback after the layoff and will
surely be picking up the winning thread soon.
The A2 was turned into somewhat of
a nonsense as the lead changed hands rather too many times. Lockdale
Lady came out of the clouds to win. This was a race to put a
line through.
I switched off before the last and
do not feel I missed anything at all.
