NFL Week 1 (Part 2)
Not the best of starts Thursday, no excuses, several conclusions
1) Miami not good enough on night and maybe same old same old
during season, worth taking on.
2) Dante Culpepper reminds me of the phrase, leopards wont
change their spots, thought the extra protection would induce a
more methodical approach to his job, but as much as he is a
top athlete he has the brain retention of a sieve. Just
cannot stop throwing the ball to the opposition when the going
gets tough, not a good habit.
3) Pittsburgh very solid outfit, difficult to beat at home or
away. Will not be taking them on at home durting season unless big
starts are the carrot.
Tonights matchups
Was looking intently at San Francisco + 8,5 start caught my eye
1st game against a side who more often that not get beat. Having
spent best part of 5 hours doing the matchup, there is a simple
conclusion to make, this game will be a landslide win for ARIZONA,
whatever way i look at it my initial thoughts were misguided, a
lot has changed at Arizona this year, the key signing of Edgerrin
James is what this team has been missing, if he plays well someone
will play better, that's the old stager Kurt Warner, if he gets
the protection and he will assuming the running back James is
effective a cricket score will emerge, plenty of quality receivers
in the team will look much better this year if defences are
put to the test by a running back of his ability, that is a dot on
the card. If this were 3 or 4 games into the season I would make
this a NAP bet but its important not to get carried away early
doors, theres plenty of time to smash it on.
BET
25 points win Arizona -8,5
Prediction
Arizona 38 San Francisco 10
5 pt double with Tampa Bay -2,5 ( bet shorter if you have to
rather than take 3), we know the importance of this, biggest and
most significant number is 2,5 !!!!!
Not a bad number to give up against a team who look old to
me, signing of Steve McNair not disimilar to Dante Culpepper,
hopefully I have learned my lesson from Thursday night, Jamal
Lewis not expected to play a big negative, Ray Lewis not the same
intensity last year, may have lost his edge, whereas
Tampa seemed to progress towards end of last year, expect big
games from Williams and Simms
Total Outlay 30 points
Season P&L -25 points to date
