Preview - 11 Nov 2007
Deportivo La
Coruna vs Racing Santander 17.00
Racing are unbeaten in six, while Deportivo engineered a
much-needed victory at Murcia last week. Racing are very much a side
in-form, and were unfortunate not to beat Espanyol last week,
conceding a last gasp penalty. The Cantabrian side may have only
scored nine goals, but their defensive line is functioning superbly,
and they will feel confident of extending that sequence against
goal-shy Depor.
Miguel Lotina has got his side playing some decent
counter-attacking football, but he is yet to see them put on a
convincing display at the Riazor. The former Real Sociedad coach
shows no signs of ditching his preferred 4-5-1 system, so expect to
see another midfield battle here. Mexican playmaker Guardado is the
man Racing will have to keep an eye on, while Ex-Depor man Pedro
Munitis is the most likely threat for Racing. The diminutive
midfielder will be keen to erase the memories of his last visit here
when, by his own admission, he was a little too keen to impress,
getting himself sent-off.
Both fixtures between these sides last season ended goalless.
Odds of 17/2 are fairly generous about that run extending to three.
Recommendation: 1
pt 0-0 @ 17/2. Hills.
