Real Betis vs Real Mallorca
Real Mallorca come into this fixture full of confidence after a
remarkable second-half comeback against Real Valladolid on
Wednesday. Trailing 2-0 at the break, the Balearic Islanders turned
it around in dramatic fashion, banging in four goals without reply.
Star of the show was Colombian Juan Arango with a second-half brace.
That victory lifted Gregorio Manzano's side up to sixth position,
and they will be looking to consolidate their position against
struggling Real Betis.
The Andalucians have yet to taste victory this season, and have
not managed three points on home soil since January. Despite a
creditable showing in defeat at the Bernabau on Thursday night,
Hector Cuper's side could have their work cut-out arresting the
slump against in-form Mallorca. It was the pace of wide midfielders
Mark Gonzalez and David Odonkor that caused Madrid problems, but
with Gonzalez unavailable, Betis may not possess the ammunition to
break down a stubborn Mallorca defence.
Manzano's side look strong in all departments, and would still be
unbeaten if not for a ridiculous refereeing decision which saw
Daniel Guiza's perfectly good equaliser ruled out against
Villarreal.
At 12/5, Mallorca are good value to heap more pressure on Cuper
this afternoon.
Recommendation: 2pts Real
Mallorca @ 12/5. Expekt.
